Chilghoza cones grow on Afghan pines above two thousand metres, on slopes nobody terraced, and every kernel is lifted out by hand because a machine crushes more than it frees. The saffron comes from the opposite landscape: flat fields near Herat, picked at dawn. Two grams, Super Negin grade, sealed in glass. With them: soft-shell Badam Kaghazi almonds, thin enough to break between two fingers, and Ashtaq apricots dried whole in the sun. Four things, none of them industrial. Only available here. Hand-packed in a rigid gift box with a blank card.
