Around one hundred and fifty crocus flowers go into a single gram. This box holds five. The saffron is Super Negin, hand-graded so only the deep red tip of each thread survives the sort, and roughly a third of each batch never reaches a jar. Beside it: chilghoza pine nuts gathered from Afghan mountain pines nobody planted, and red jujube dates, crisp and apple-sweet. Barely two hundred grams of contents. Nothing in this box is heavy.
